Just got this combo rod and reel, and own many Quantum and Abu Garcia combos. It matches up if not surpasses them all. This unit is so light that there is no way you will get fatigued casting it all day. I put 30 lb braid on and threw a crank bait as far as I wanted with no problems. But the combo is very stout and flexes its muscle when it needs too. So impressed with the weight and smoothness, will be a BPS fan forever.

Ok I read the other reviews and decided to purchase this combo based on the weight and description of the grips. I have to say this combo performed flawlessly! Second cast of the day (while bass fishing) I happened to set the hook on an 18 pound carp and thanks to the strike king jig I knew it wasn't coming off! The rod and reel handeled great while fighting this fish. 8 mineuts later my partner was able to net this monster. I have several carrot sticks that are very light and strong and I have this combo set up as my go to rig. Worth every penny!

I bought this combo the other day, by far the lighest combo i own and very smooth. i tested the durability of the rod by hooking it onto a gallon of water.
Only disavantage is its hard to turn the internal breaking system knob.

Just purchase this setup on Saturday and have fished 2 days with it. Once I got this reel "tuned" I fell in love with it The reel is super smooth and the the rod is super sensitive but very strong. Unfortunately while throwing a swimming minnow the first fish I caught was a 25lb carp but the rod and reel held up nice and it was like I hooked a pan fish. I plan to purchase more of these in the near future.

Not up to speed on the new guide materials. Will these Micro guides stand up to the new braided lines

I use braided line with my bps carbon lite with the micro guides, haven't had one problem. And the sound when you hook a big one is pretty awesome1 of 1
