Weighing in at less than 6 ounces, the Bass Pro Shops® Johnny Morris® CarbonLite™ Baitcast Reel fuses carbon-fiber construction with machined aircraft-grade aluminum, but weighs little more than an average apple! Built on a one-piece aluminum frame, with Duralumin gears and shaft, this bantamweight fighter bristles with pure power. The CarbonLite baitcaster is packed with features, including a V-grooved, ported, machined Duralumin spool; 10 stainless steel, double-shielded ball bearings; our time-tested and tournament proven Dual Braking System™; titanium nitride-coated line guide to virtually eliminate line friction; carbon fiber Recurve handle; and our smooth, powerful drag system with six alternating carbon fiber and stainless washers to help you tame the most vicious fish in the water.
When the fish have lockjaw and you really have to work for every bite, the Bass Pro Shops® CarbonLite™ Original Trigger Rod is the rod you need. Lighter than air; stronger than steel. (OK. So it’s not quite as light as air, but it is literally stronger than steel.) The average modulus of elasticity of steel is 29 million psi—the CarbonLite’s 85 million modulus blank is almost three times as strong! It’s absolutely the lightest, most astoundingly sensitive rod we’ve ever built. In addition to the featherweight 85 million modulus carbon fiber blank designed for the ultimate fusion of power and sensitivity, the CarbonLite uses nearly weightless P-Tec polyfoam grips and a super-light two-piece Soft Touch reel seat with the maximum amount of exposed blank: they’re both compatible with mono, fluoro or braided superlines. The nine stealth-black, Pac Bay DLC stainless steel-framed guides plus tip feature titanium-carbide inserts and a PVD coating to make them extra-slick and damage-resistant.

I usually don't write reviews
This is something that I normally don't do but I want everyone to know this is a heck of a deal. I bought a 7-6 heavy action combo a year and a half ago and fished hard with it. I really like it, I fish Carolina rigs and jigs with it and day after day it works hard for me. I really didn't realize how good a deal this was until last weekend when my fishing buddy let me tryout his new outfit. He spent 600 dollars on a rod and reel and even though it was nice I think mine was just as good maybe even better.

Best rod reel combo I've bought thus far. If you know how to tie an arbor knot, an albright knot, and cast a baitcast, this is the BOMB. I've caught some big fish, but I can't say where...hahaha. Super light carbon rod, super smooth reel, and ohhhh the fish love the jig. Get you one and practice. Beats the Shimanos, the Daiwas, and the Pflueggers. Best bang for your buck. You'll be a pro before you know it.
