Bass Pro Shops® Humpin' Toads
One of our most popular soft plastic baits! The Humpin' Toad stirs up frenzied topwater action with paddle feet that really whirl and twirl. Just toss it onto a pad, crawl it off, let it sink a second, and then reel it in. More times than not, you'll stir up a big bass bonanza! Soft belly makes it easy to rig with a double-prong frog hook. Flavored with 8up scent attractant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Xclusiveargentina Argentina fishing
As a Pro-Fishing Guide in Argentina for over 18 years, I have tried many different baits. Golden Dorado and Wolf fish are our main targets. They have very different behaviors, so finding a lure that will provide action with both species is very rare.
The Bass Pro Shops® Humpin' Toad was a great find, it works on both species and delivers non stop action. Fishing it on top of weed beds brings up the Wolf fish that jump clearly out of the water to catch them. In deeper water, If you let them sink and retrieve with a erratic movement they will get Golden Dorados to bite.
The only mishap is that they break after a couple of hits, but this happens with any lure that gets hit by our fish. So they will remain as a first choice in my fishing bag. Great product, thanks!!!
For those that don't know about Golden Dorados & Wolf Fish, check out the pics...

They do not float, if you cast and wait, they will sink. But if you retrieve them in a steady pace they will work as a Top Water lure. This versatility covers many different fishing needs. They catch fish in all conditions!!!
A:
These lures sink if you're not doing a steady retrieve. The plus side of this is that you can fish them topwater or like a swimbait. The paddle tails have great action and if you swim them fast enough they buzz the surface.A:
Find a hole in the grass and let it set, it will sink slowly. Then as you reel, it skims across the water like a swimming frog and you get topwater action.Top 500 Contributor

They float not too great. They sink some after you cast it, but it does come up to the surface after a few seconds. It is very effective on the topwater tooAnswers
A:
no its not weighted it will sink down on its own, i fish it fast for top water or slow with twitches for submergedA:
Lure sinks without action provided by the angler. These lures skim the surface with a steady retrieve, and they make a great swimbait if retrieved slowly.A:
Use no weight. It will sink slow, then reel and it swims across the water for top water weedless action.A:
It has wieght to it, i can cast it at least 25 yarads. she doesent float but under use it does come to the top. It works like a buzz bait.A:
No, this lure has an excellent sinking action. I've had a few bites letting it sink in fishy looking areas and lightly jerking the bait to the top, giving it the look of a frog escaping a predator.A:
it floats but i dont know if its weightedA:
It does have a small weight in the rear of the body. And the thing floats great, Every three or four cast you may have to squeeze a few squirts of water out of it but no big deal.Answers

I'm looking to add this to my repertoire, and just don't know what size hook is best for this. I read about a 5/0 or 6/0, and would just like some input. Thank you!Answers
A:
4/O or 5/O work great for these. I prefer the 5/O Gamakatsu Superline Spring-Lock hooks (unweighted.)A:
I use to 5/0 hook and the barb comes up between the legs and it weedlessA:
the hook is in it and i dont know what size it is but the hook is bigA:
I prefer a 3/0 sized wide gap hook. 4/0 and higher are just a little too big for this plastic.Top 1000 Contributor

I use a 5/0 hook and it works pretty well.Top 500 Contributor

I prefer to use a 4/0 or a 5/0.Top 1000 Contributor
A:
i would use 3/0, 4/0, 5/0A:
I used a 5/0 extra wide gap hook and it worked fine. I would also recommend some hitchhikers to screw into the nose of your frog then attache it to the hook eye. This will make your frog last longer.A:
I am using a Mustad 5/0 with the spring looking bait holder. Also don't forget the braided line. It keeps the bait up on top better and helps get the fish out of the thick weeds when they hit itTop 1000 Contributor

I like to rig it Texas style with a Gamakatsu 5/0 superline EWG hook. This seems to give me the best hook up and retrieve.Images for this Answer
