this product did not work well for me. the buckle on the strap was on the corner of the gunwale and kept coming unlocked. on the picture bass pro has it shows the buckle between gunwale and trailer.

I bought my new Gunwale Tie-down in May 2010. I went on two fishing trips; each trip was 20 miles round-trip and the part of the strap that stretches over the middle of the boat is already frayed.

This item is not what is shown in the picture. It does not have the flat wide black hooks shown here. It has round gold hooks. It's just a normal tie-down strap with a piece of nylon under the buckle to prevent scratching. I bought one and returned it.
