Rated 5 out of 5Â by jeffhntr Best Ten Bucks you can spend
I bought three of these for myself and my son-in-laws. One son-in-law and I went to Canada last month. This thing held 30"+ Northern Pike like a champ. It was worth the price for that one trip, but it looks tough enough to stay around awhile.

I use this in the surf for striped bass and bluefish. I had my doubts when I bought it about how it would endure the saltwater environment, but so far, so good halfway through the season.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by BigG2 Excellent Fishing Accessory
This is absolutely the best fishing accessory that I have ever had. It works eccedingly well when taking on large catfish. It allows me to avoid the fishes fins aa it keeps a bulldog grip on the mouth of the fish. This allows for easier hook removal. I never leave home without it.

will it tear the lip? or hurt it in any other wayAnswers
A:Â
I TRUELY DON'T THINK SO. THE ENDS OF THE GRIPPER ARE ROUNDED TO PREVENT SUCH.A:Â
Usually not.Does not hurt fish any worse than more expensive holders.Top 1000 Contributor
A:Â
No way will it hurt fish as edges are round and no skin is injured.A:Â
It won´t hurt the fish any more than the hook that caught him, but lets face it, he´s being hung by his "lip", it´s gotta hurt some :)A:Â
It did not tear the lip at allTop 50 Contributor
A:Â
It won't tear the fish's lip, but I don't know if it hurts them.A:Â
I don't use it when I have lip-hooked a fish. It is perfect for those deep hook sets that you simply can't get out. It will not harm the fish. I had a bass completely swallow a six-inch worm along with the hook. I removed the hook, recovered the worm and let the bass swim away unharmed.Details:Â
I was wondering if this grip could fit in the top cavity of a hard tray style tackle box.Answers

It fits in both my Planos with plenty of space. It's about a foot long and two inches thick at the trigger.A:Â
ABOUT 11 INCHES. YES, I THINK IT WOULD FIT JUST FINE.A:Â
It is about 10 inches long if the tackle box is it were big then yes but anything small it probably won't fitTop 1000 Contributor
A:Â
well i have a Plano® 1001 Tackle Box and it fits in the top of it easily and ive had that tackle box since i was 5A:Â
I have a Plano that seems to fit your description, It doesn´t fit, but not only for the length of the grip but the width of the metal side handles, I store it at the bottom with other random stuff.Details:Â
Muskie and other fish tend to roll when ypu grip them. I need it to swivel so I wont injur the fish.Answers

A:Â
It doesn't swivel on it's own, but just leave the strap around your wrist and it can roll if it needs to. The strap is made of stretchy shock cord, not a stiff strap.A:Â
No it does notTop 1000 Contributor
A:Â
it doesn't swivel but i use the lanyard and let the gripper go it stays on my wrist and they can do their rollingA:Â
thats true, maybe try some sort of pvc pipe cut to fit around the handle so it can rotate. good point though...A:Â

It handled a 31 lb flathead one night and then the next night it broke picking up a 40 lb flathead.A:Â
I don´t know about catfish, but I´ve used it with fish as big as 12-15 lbs, no worries.A:Â
They come in sizes. If you mean a 100 pound flathead...I wouldn't put my hand in its mouth with or without the remover. But for us that catch "normal" catfish you betTop 1000 Contributor
