If the spec would have specified that the rod was telescopics i would of pass and get another one. BPS should know better that detail is important !! Very disapointed at BPS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by jmatt916 really good rod
i've had this rod for one fishing season and it has performed very well. i have the 7'6" heavy action rod and i use it for heavy slop fishing and froggin. i also double it as my muskie rod and it can handle the large baits very well. the guides are good for braided line and won't get damaged by it. the backbone of this rod is very sturdy and has just the right amount of flex at the tip. you can't beat it for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hermie Good Value
I have always had cheaper BPS rods for the boys as they grew up and for myself, for river fishing. I used another brand of graphite rods for myself, and for lake fishing.. The quality has declined a great deal on my other brand, so I went shopping for a good value graphite rod. I settled on this rod last year, and purchased four casting rods when they were on sale. Just this week, I purchased another. The quality is excellent, along with very good line quides. I also like the good quality cork handles, that has a separate reel tightening feature, from the handle. This is a very good value rod at this price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hawg Great Flippn' Rod
I bought the 7'6" medium heavy rod #which by the way is telescopic in construction# for Football Jig , Carolina Rig and Flippn' and Pitchn' applications . The rod is well built with good quality control . Cork handle , rod finish and rod guides all well built with smooth finish and attention to detail . I favored the medium heavy version for the fact the last 14 inches of so of the rod exhibited more action than the heavy version #while still having a strong butt section# plus I did not foresee I needed to go up to a 2 oz. rating as the lakes I fish do not require lure / punching weights that heavy . I will also suggest the trend towards medium heavy versus heavy action rods allows the better application of braided line to come into play #braid has less give/stretch# - adding to the versatility of this rod . I give this rod 5 stars because I judged it to be a great value in the price range , performance and construction materials .
The only negative is IM-6 graphite material #by nature# is a little heavier and not quite as sensitive as IM-7 or IM-8 graphite rod material - but then again IM-7 and IM-8 graphite constructed rods are more expensive for a reason .That said , below are two tips I have found for gaining even greater value and performance with this rod and make the most of the IM-6 graphite construction:
1 ) Buy the BPS Rod Balancer #$9.99#, add the reel and spool with the line you will use to the rod following the instructions ...The balance you will achieve will make the performance and perceived weight of this rod feel like a MUCH more expensive class of rod .
2 ) Use Fluorocarbon or Braided line - much more sensitive than Mono line ...You are now able to transmit the most feel through the IM-6 graphite material possible .
I hope this review is helpful and the tips suggested allow you to get the most out of your rod purchase .
