I purchased this chain for a new anchor system that I am using with my bass boat. I liked the idea of the 4' chain and galvanized is nice for corrosion resistence.
I am not a big fan of the triangular parts on either end of this chain. When the chain pulls it is going to pull from only one point on either side (two points) and a triangle obviously has three points. It just looks wierd and I ended up cutting them off in the end. Then I thought I should have just bought a chunk of chain from the local farm store. (although Im not sure if they have galvanized).

i bought a 4' piece of this chain to secure my boat at the local lake. after several years, the chain shows no sign of rust. it was worth the few extra bucks.

An anchor chain is not something that should maybe be considered as an option for your anchor, it's a necessity, and it really helps the anchor to lay down and dig in and hold your boat.
I bought the galvanized chain, since that was all that was in stock at the store when I bought my boat and accessories. I don't really have a preference between this chain and the coated chain, and I guess that they both work equally as well. I've had my anchor chain for 3 years, and it shows no signs of rusting or corroding.
