see thru I have been boating for over 40 years and I have owned nearly every brand of outboard. The Best thing a boater can do with all outboards today is to install a fuel filter where you can see it , preferably right in front of the outboard where the fuel lines enter into the engine. This is a high quality glass filter that will not fade because of the sun, nor will the plastic crack causing a air leak because it's glass . Because it is glass and thus not effected by the sunlight like cheap plastic models you can see air in your lines, you can see how strong your fuel pump is by the volume inside the filter.I learned a valuable lesson, I had trash get into my engine because I fueled up at a station while the station tanks were being filled . This is cheap insurance for your engine! February 17, 2015
gas filter Nice little filter. I have a built in tank on my Starcraft boat and I just wanted to have some kind of filter before the motor. I just cut the line as the kit comes with 3 different size hose connectors and a couple of ty raps and it is installed. Quite a sturdy looking filter and easy to change the filter elements ( which I bought extra ones). August 30, 2010
Works great! I put this on last year and was amazed at how much better my motor ran. It's nice to see whats being filtered out too. I bought the replacement filters, and keep two 1/2" wrenchs in the boat in case I need to change a filter on the water, which can be done in less then 2 mins. May 20, 2012
Save Money With This Product This filter easily replaced the disposable one with just a screwdrver and wrench to add the appropriate hose connectors. Be sure to buy some small stainless steel hose clamps and the 3 pack of replacement filters. I like the ability to see through the clear glass housing. May 10, 2010

You would need a fuel/water separator to remove water from your fuel.I don't care what they say about this filter,it's simply a trash filter to me,but well worth it .install it where you can see it ,like right in front of the engine. IT will save you problems if you keep it clean when it gets filled with gas trash.Use good quality stainless steel clamps.

It don't. It removes particles well, but I know it doesn't remove water.

It should fit as it has a set of different sizes of barbed fittings that thread into both ends of the glass filter tube housing. It fit my 40 HP 1989 Evinrude fine.

No, just for paticlate matter. You are talking about a more sofisticated and expensive filter system yhat you can get from a boating catalog.
