I put it on just before I went to Canada because Ive had issues before with water in gas while in Canada, seemed to work perfectly until I took my lower unit off from hitting a big rock.

I purchased this filter kit at the Bass Pro Shop Store in Orlando Fl. This filter system was everything I wanted for my 21ft Pontoon boat. It was easy to install in the motor mount well in front of the SUZUKI 90 hp motor. It was so easy to install, I used 3 stainless bolts to mount it. Being there, it is easy to change the filter any time. You need to purchase 1/4 mpt thread w/ proper slip or threaded fitting for your fuel line. Just follow directions. The hardest part was selecting the right place to mount the filter holder, and ease of changing the filter when needed

I purchased this unit because of its low price. I guess you get what you pay for.
I have an outboard motor and the filter didn’t come with any fittings for rubber hoses. So they had to be purchased along with clamps. After installing the unit I found that fuel wouldn’t flow into the filter and I had to drill out the intake to the filter before it would draw any fuel from the gas tank. It apparently had gunk in it. I’m hoping I’m the only person with this problem.

Have been concerned about water in gas supply from time to time.
Adding the filter provides peace of mind!
The installation is easy, just have to obtain the correct size fittings for the gas line and bolts and nuts to mount.

no barbs furnished. Because of sizing of different I.D. gas lines, have to obtain locally. However plugs are provided to close of unused or un-selected ports.Answers

I changed mine once a year. My Lake Erie boat had water in the gas when I bought it and I put a fuel-water mixer I bought at a marina which blended the water into the gas and I had no more problem with it after that, so then I put a seperator kit on it. My tank was 53 gallon and made of aluminum.Details:Â
If not, how often is it required to replace filter?Answers
A:Â
I believe the Moeller Marine Water Filter might have a drain. You can see the water that has been seperated from the fuel in it.A:Â
No, when the filter is full it is disposed of and you replace the filter much like you do when you have an oil change on your vehicle. They do make filters with a water drain off but, it has been my experience that they are made of a cheap plastic and they brake really easy. This happens with very little pressure and something as simple as a battery jumping could smash that filter leaving you stranded. Stick with this type of filter, you won't be disappointed.
