I don't use these spears for frogs or fish; I use them to catch moles in my lawn and they work fine. The only comment I have is the barbs would be better if they were larger.

I am not fishing. Using this to spear moles in the yard. Ha Ha. Got two, but one keeps escaping. Works better than a shovel.
