JUNK This reel is an absolute piece of garbage... I figured the bass pro name would mean some sort of quality (even with the low price) but that is certainly not true. My reel does not spool the line correctly, often resulting in tangles... My friend bought one also and his handle fell off (not easily repairable, it is riveted on) Do not waste your time May 28, 2014
Pleasantly Surprised Took this reel out twice, performed just about as nicely as my other spinning reels, at about half the price. Smooth retrieve and handled a couple of nice fish well. I keep this in my car as my "just in case" reel. Will also take on the boat for an extra set up. Would definitely buy another one - especially for the wife and kids. April 26, 2014
Great Buy, smooth, quiet, fun to fish This was a impulse buy, the price got me. Took it fishing Monday, it was very smooth, quiet, it's now my fav spinning reel. Casted well, bale works smoothly. Liked it so much I got home and ordered another via catalog. Me and my fishing buddy had older reels with bales that were hanging up, this one was much better from the box. Loses one star, the handle feels different, I'll get used to it. April 17, 2014
Fresh Water Life I paid $29.99 at bass pro on sale i wouldn't pay retail $49.99 not worth it . I bought it to use on land for canal bass fishing works well with heavy jigs horrible with light jigs on casting . Had no problems yet . I caught a huge tilapia with no problem the g2 ugly stick i use worked flawless that was purchased with the reel . 30 for the real 40 the rod plus spiderwire killer combination . April 16, 2014

Line Lay on spool

Details:
addressed to "OldCrappieFisherman"

Remove the spool and see if there are any washers (spacers). If so remove one or more to adjust the depth the spool sits on the shaft. That will put the line on the reel evenly.

A:
No. I bought two of these reels. Very nice reels for the price and no issue with the way the line spools on as someone else mentioned.
