Long Time Friend havehad this since ibegan fishing first i got a plano box than this than the smaller version of this bout all needed this lasts and has so much space the only problem is someof the zippers broke off still like new...almost littlebig so i dont usaully take anywhere but stores stuff last time i used it i tookit on vacation to the ocean a year ago July 15, 2010
Great size bag for what I need I needed a new takle bag and wanted to get something that would be the perfect size for what I needed everytime I went out fishing. I didn't need something big enough for everything I have, just what I needed that day and this bag gets the job done. November 5, 2010
best junk hauler ever while I love to fish and have 3 tackle boxes. the reason I bought this one was to carry my work related stuff around. I have a few medical problems so I carry a blood sugar and blood pressure monitor to work with me, I also carry assorted pens and other things with me. the bag I purchased holds my safety glasses as well as all my other junk with no problems. my friends at work call it my purse. I kinda bristle at that since I'm a disabled vet but either way it more than does the job. all the pockets and places to put my assorted items make it easier to get them out without having to unload the whole bag to get one thing. the carry strap allows me to sling it over my shoulder so its much easier to carry. and since I have so much junk in it it more evenly distributes the weight, I realize this was not the intended use of this bag but it works better than any thing else Ive used. since I don't have much choice as to what I need to carry to work with me at least Ive found a carry all that assists me in doing this. I'll bet it would do just as good a job at the purpose for which it was intended, to carry a lot of fishing lures.besides it looks nice in the blue and grey color scheme. I would recomend this bag for any purpose you may have of it. my previous one from plano did not hold up so well. one night as I got ready to leave work I noticed the zipper was torn from its track. too much stress on a lesser product I guess. it accomplishes all I ask of it and looks good doing it, and for what I think was a reasonable price. thank you April 15, 2010
Versatile Tackle Bag Just picked up one of these bags last week. It didn't take long to fill it up with tackle and gear, including a packable rain coat, hand cloth, sunglasses, a file, pliers and a knife. I like the idea of having outside pockets to separate all of my gear, which makes it easier to locate what I need quickly. The main compartment houses all of my tackle, which includes bags of worms, and 3600 sized boxes full of crank baits, hooks etc. It is a well made bag at a very reasonable price. I anticipate getting many years of use out of it. February 16, 2015

Don't think so. The two large boxes Plano provides for you are more than enough space to store tons of spinner and buzz baits. I have over fifty spinner baits in my one box.

the BPS boxes cost approx. $5.30 (without tax) and it says the you can fit 5 so that is about $10.30 with the bag that is about $40.30

(with 10% tax): $44.33

but i'm sure that you can find plano ones for cheaper

The boxes come with the purchase of the bag so the price will not change. I would totally suggest buying this system due to the fact that with other brands you have to buy the bag and the boxes seperate. It's a great bang for your buck.

A:
The tackle bag takes 11x7 boxes. The problem is they do not have any boxes that are suitable for my type of fishing. I fish off-shore on the Mexico Pacific coast. I use trolling lures with plastic skirts that are from 6" to 10 ". The boxes offered by Bass Pro are designed with compartments that will not hold my lures. I would prefer an empty box. One without compartments. I know they have to be out there but where do you find them? I have had no luck so far.

I have 7 x 11 inch boxes that fit in this bag. You could make an 8 x 12 box fit.
The main compartment holds 4 boxes side by side plus 1 on top of the others. The front compartment will hold a 7 x 9.

No, I realized this problem after I bought it, there is no good place for buzz or spinnerbaits. I just use small bungee cords to strap it to the top of the bag.

There are huge differences. With the Elite Series Plano went above and beyond with creating a product that withstands the meanest elements that mother nature can throw at it. I was at one tournament and the the bottom dropped out of the sky and we were drenched with rain. However, all of my tackle and gear inside of my 4849 were bone dry. In addition, all the zipper pulls are reinforced with rubber handles and the base of the sytem now has hard rubber feet to keep the bag itself off of the ground or any other surface.

If I'm not mistaken, the new model's main left pocket is magnetic now (the one holding the towel in the photo), and it has a small pouch on the front of it. The one I have has two separate zippered pouches on that side, one above the other.
