Excellent buy for the money
This tackle box is an excellent buy for a great price. Has plenty of storage for all the equipment you need to get the job done. I would highly recomend this product.

Very good for the price
No, you're not getting a superior high-end tackle bag but what you are getting is a practical, economically priced tackle bag for the average angler. I got this just before a week long fishing trip in the Wisconsin northwoods, it held all the hard baits I needed plus all the leaders and accessories needed for a week long trip. I wouldn't say there is a lot of room for soft plastics but I have a separate BPS bag for those.
The shoulder strap is a bit of a joke, it could be better made. The padding slides easily up and down the strap but a couple of quick hand-stitches anchored it right where I need it. Along with that, this couldn't be described as ruggedly built but the price tag reflects that.
Bottom line: if you've got the spare cash, you can do better. If you want a decent quality tackle bag that may or may not last years & years, this is a good choice.
The description says plastic tackle boxes are not included but mine had five boxes in it already, which had to be considered a bonus.

The design of the bag is excellent--it has tons of room for its size. But its quality isn't the best. The handles are made of cheap neoprene and aren't very sturdy, and the shoulder strap has no padding at all. I would prefer to spend a little more for something of better quality.

The boxes come with the purchase of the bag so the price will not change. I would totally suggest buying this system due to the fact that with other brands you have to buy the bag and the boxes seperate. It's a great bang for your buck.
The tackle bag takes 11x7 boxes. The problem is they do not have any boxes that are suitable for my type of fishing. I fish off-shore on the Mexico Pacific coast. I use trolling lures with plastic skirts that are from 6" to 10 ". The boxes offered by Bass Pro are designed with compartments that will not hold my lures. I would prefer an empty box. One without compartments. I know they have to be out there but where do you find them? I have had no luck so far.
There are huge differences. With the Elite Series Plano went above and beyond with creating a product that withstands the meanest elements that mother nature can throw at it. I was at one tournament and the the bottom dropped out of the sky and we were drenched with rain. However, all of my tackle and gear inside of my 4849 were bone dry. In addition, all the zipper pulls are reinforced with rubber handles and the base of the sytem now has hard rubber feet to keep the bag itself off of the ground or any other surface.
If I'm not mistaken, the new model's main left pocket is magnetic now (the one holding the towel in the photo), and it has a small pouch on the front of it. The one I have has two separate zippered pouches on that side, one above the other.
