Rated 4 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by appears to be a very good product Did not have chance to use as of yet fishing. But I did practice cast around camp and it seems to cast very easy with no back lash(spider webbing). So if I was to rate baitcast combo, I would rate it as very good and easy to use and would recommend it and would purchase another maybe in near future July 19, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Worked Great... until the rod snapped... So to start out... This was my first baitcasting combo. I bought it before the season so I could get the hang of casting and the general feel of the combo. I was extremely confident with my ability to use this combo by the time my fishing trip came this past June. The first day I used this combo it was tested with back to back 30"+ dogfish when they nailed my shallow diving crankbait. The rod and reel performed extremely well while hauling them in. Day 2 I snagged a small tree limb and the rod just snapped. There was barely any strain on the rod compared to the dogfish I fought on day one. I was in shock to say the least. I purchased the 7' Medium Heavy and the rod should have been able to lift the limb out of the water if I had wanted to. I'm not sure if I had a defective rod but I'm planning to use the warranty BPS sells to get this combo replaced. The rod: not thrilled it snapped but I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt. I felt the weight was good as I fished it hours straight without problem. The reel: seemed to perform well overall but you could tell the braking system wasn't top of the line. (good for the money but I now know why people spend good money for a high end reel) July 6, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Value I have been using this combo for a couple of months and love it. It had been several years since I have bass fished and done much casting and was afraid it would take me a long time to get use to it again. But with this setup I was doing great the first day I used it. Caugh several fish of all sizes and had no trouble. Was able to place the bait where I wanted it and very few back lashes. and they were my fault. Didn't take long to figure out how to set it up for different bates. I would recommend it for beginner and Pro's alike. May 19, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by great reel i'v been having this set up for about 2 or 3 months now and i absolutely love the reel it cast so smooth and you can throw a country mile with that thing. It feels durable hasnt giving me any problems yet and i use it at least 2 or 3 times a week.I'll give it another couple months and if it continues workin great like it does i will purches a few more of these. I also have a bass pro qualifier and if u ask me the extreme matrix reel will out perform the pro qualifier by far, way smoother reel and it looks good to.As for the rod its already broken not so much the rods fault it got hung up on a tree as the boat was moving and snapped but didnt care for the rod much if bass pro would change the rod combo to a better quality rod and ill definitely would give it a 5 star as the the reel its a 5 star. to me this would be the best combo for your money awsome reel though try it i promise you ull love it. Yes, the button with the Bass Pro Shops logo on it is used to remove the side plate and gain access to the centrifugal braking system. Please view schematics for additional directions on how to do so.

I cannot seem to find this reel listed separately to check more reviews. I just ordered a pro qualifier but this reel has a 9 bearing system, more than the pro qualifier's. Has anyone used both? How smooth and durable is this reel in comparison?

i personally have a pro qualifier and its a pretty good reel but the extreme matrix reel will cast much further and smoother than the qualifier and it feels just as durable
