Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Item I purchased this carrier for a recent trip to the coast. I placed 8 ocean rods in the case and it was very easy to transport the rods back and forth to the pier. Several people stopped and looked at the case as I would open it up. Great buy! September 10, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Monster This thing is huge! Not sure if that is good or bad. I decided not to use if for a recent trip due to the size. A rod case and box for the reels was more realistic. Photo doesn't really give you correct scale. June 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Carrier I pack 4 rods in my carrier, 2 spincast and 2 baitcast all with 7 foot rods. They fit very nicely and make a great way to not only carry your equipment but keep them clean and dry. I use the Bass Pro Lure Keepers on each and I am ready to go quickly. Use it to carry and store your rods in the boat and grab and go. No hassle and no tangles. May 21, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Its a rod holder It is what it says, its a rod holder. It does hold 4 of my 8' one piece rods, but I can't get the reels to fit to my comfort in this holder. The reels rub each other and rub on the rods, and I want to keep my fishing equipment in good shape, and this isn't a good bag for it. This holder would be good for 2 or 3 rods with reels at best. Hope this helps December 23, 2013

A:
Absolutely not. I made the mistake of leaving it out in the rain in a recent fishing trip... And it was soaking wet... inside and out.

it will probably be considered to big since it is about 7 to 8 ft long. plus to take this on a plane is very risky as we have lost 2 poles because of it

I work for a airline and they would not be allowed due to size restrictions (length).

Also they are in no way designed to be used as checked baggage. These are just lightweight material rod carriers.

For airline travel invest in a hard rod case.

It will barely hold a seven foot rod not sure about the width but you basically can fit 4 rods across it closed, eight when its open.
