I can't speak for using this product as directed, in an emergency situation, however, it works great when used in conjuction with hot glue. My rod tip broke a while back (the aluminum oxide insert cracked and fell out, leaving a sharp metal edge brushing against my line). I replaced it with the smallest Fuji rod tip I could find using hot glue. I caught a few fish with it, then the tip fell off. I hot glued it again, caught a few more fish, then it fell off again. So then I purchased this kit, hot glued the rod tip back on, then slid the shrink-tube over the tip and heated it with a wind-proof lighter. Now the tip is on there REALLY good. It also come with three shrink tubes, so you could use this kit up to three times, assuming you hang on to the rod tip.

Not the way to go. Since you've got to have a lighter to shrink the tubing why not purchase the glue stick and do the repair correctly.
The shrink tubing will not collapse enough to give you a tight einough binding on the tip at the risk of burning the tip of your rod.

worst repair kit iI have ever used. I had an old fishing rod that had a broken tip, I usually use crazy glue for rod repairs but decided to buy a repair kit . The repair came out nice and clean, but when I went to use it the shrink wrap came right off! It comes with 3 shrink wraps and all three times they failed

I have yet to break a rod tip but I know it will happen sooner or later. I feel great knowing my day won't be over if one breaks. Very good insurance policy especially for the price.

Comes with 3 differeent sizes - depends on the break point as to what size you may need. But this kit will get you thru the day until you can get it fixed professionally or by yourself in a better enviroment.1 of 1
