This LEM #22 Grinder delivers all that it pormises. It is easy to use and easy to clean. In no time we were completed with a job that would usually have taken a LOT longer. We are very pleased with the performance of this grinder. We definately got vallue for our product.

I decided this year i would purchase my own grinder. In the past I always processed with my buddy using his kitchen top grinder. Don't get me wrong it did the job...it just took all day! I did a lot of research and comparisons and found LEM to be the best choice. I purchased the #12 big bite grinder. WHAT A GREAT SURPRISE! What used to take us all day took less than 2 hours! We even made sausage! The Backwoods Trail Bologna seasoning is the absolute best! Thank you Bass Pro for carrying LEM Products so i can just pick it up at the store. My next purchase will be the tilt mixer and the jerky slicer! Love the products! Keep up the good work!

I cannot believe nobody has caught this! Of course this machine will handle alot of meat! The filler neck has been cut down to make sure of it! I've worked with grinders before and I'm sure I'm spoiled because of it. I ordered the biggest I could get from lem to handle lots of meat and to do it quickly. If you look at the filler neck on the horn they've cut the size down with several flanges at the top of the horn. Then lem sized it down again with an even smaller top to the meat tray!! Are you kidding me! Down to 2 1/2 inches!! I called lem and the lady told me it was a safety feature so you can't get your hand in the grinder. Well, you can't get meat in there either!! Now I have to cut my meat in strips just the same as before. I told the woman I'm used to working with Hobart. She said maybe I should have bought a Hobart. Nice. I'm now making modifications to the grinder to make it commercial grade.

In late Nov 2011 I bought the #8 LEM, but couldn't find the time to use it during the hunting season as we were processing our deer. Quick successful wkend hunts, 2hr drive back home each Sunday or Monday back to work, & school for the kids. So we just hung the deer a few days as some butcher friends highly recommended, then cut up the best cuts, bagged & froze the rest to be ground later into breakfast sausage and jerky when we had the time. Because I needed to allot enough time for the grinding and clean up job....or so I thought. My only experience around any other grinders was a friend who for the last 5 or 6 yrs had been allowing me to come over when he was doing his grinding, we'd make a day and event out of it....and it took several hours of time and somewhat back aching labor. His grinder was electric, but all plastic parts. Did the job, but finally decided it was time to cash in some of my Bass Pro Rewards Points and get my own grinder now that my kids were getting old enough to add to the # of deer that we needed to process each year. After reading reviews decided I'd buy something hopefully a little better than his. Had a really tough time deciding between the #8 and #5, cost differential was big but wanted to have one that would do that job and last for may years, always like to Go Big with just about everything else so just bit the bullet and bought the #8. Well.....never even opened the box for about 45 days just because we didn't have that long down day that I thought we'd need for the job, based on past experience. Then noticed by mid Jan Bass Pro puts the #5 LEM on sale, less than half what I spent for the #8. Read the reviews, scared to go too small and regret it but finally decided to return the #8 unopened box and exchange it for the #5 which the savings would way more than pay for the dehydrator that I'd also been wanting to buy. Opened this box as soon as I got it, first thing I noticed was just how heavy the box was, pulled the grinder out and inspected it. All metal, lots of stainless, the only plastic part was the stuffer. Heavy Duty rig, very happy right off the bat. Once we put it to work, had 4 deer to grind minus the tender loins and a few of the more choice cuts, so we had a lot of meat to grind. Did not have to cut the meat up into such small pieces like we always did with the buddies small plastic grinder, this #5 would take it as fast as my son and I could feed it, never bogged down a bit like my buddies always did, and we were off & running grinding with our first grinder....faster than the wife & daughter could keep up on the other end. I was totally & completely impressed and satisfied. On Super Bowl Sunday we ground up 4 deer with little effort and little time. Prepping a place to work and cleaning all the pans and bowls and grinder parts took longer than the grinding. Absolutely Incredible. I've regretted a few purchases after the fact over the yrs, but sure love it when we got the bargain unexpectedly, the savings paid for the dehydrator, heck I could have bought 4 dehydrators with the savings, and it did the job superbly. Yep felt like a genius that day. Already ground 3 deer from this current 2012 season, if the kids get lucky may have 1 or 2 more over the holidays. Boys I can assure you the lesser expensive #5 will do the job. I'm not sure what need would have to arise to justify the #8 or bigger ,other than commercial processing. The #5 is that good. Hope that helps some other single household hunters, or even partnerships of 2 or 4 hunting buddies, brothers, etc.. I had a tough time making my decision on which one to get. Got lucky on my deal, exchanged the #8 for the #5 while I still could, saved a ton, bought my dehydrator with the savings, and don't regret it a single bit.
Oh yea, and if you're into making jerky and don't have the jerky cannon......well just keep fighting it with labor and time for a year or two like I did thru about 6 deer and 60 or 70 lbs of jerky... then go get yourself the LEM jerky cannon, not the gun....and you won't regret it, you'll be recommending it the say way I am. With a #5, a dehydrator, and the jerky cannon, you can make some serious amounts of breakfast sausage and jerky, with very little time and effort, I can say that...so take it from a cheap nucklehead hardhead who did it the long way and the hard way for the first couple years.
