Bought a brand new pontoon boat this year, our first boat ever. I was worried about filling the tank because the new "eco friendly" gas cans are anything but "eco friendly". Google brought me to this siphon and wow am I glad I found it.
First weekend with the boat, I had fill it with 15 gallons, using a 5 gallon gas can. Set the gas can on the rest area above the tank (I have a waxed piece of cardboard that I use to set the gas can on in case any gas does leak out, which it hasn't), put the end without the brass fitting into the filler cap on the boat and the end with the brass fitting into the gas can, give it a few shakes and wait about 90 seconds. I am able to angle the brass fitting into one of the corners of the gas can, once it is just about empty, I tilt the can so I can pretty much empty the tank.
No spillage, no hanging out over the end of the boat trying to hold the heavy gas can.
I might get the 3/8" tube for around the house it works so well/

A neighbor came to my rescue while I was bailing out my almost sunk boat..I have been in the boat/yacht business for 30+ yrs and had never seen this product. I have manually pumped bilges , my boat, due to bad float switches, now 2012 I find out about this great siphon..WOW CJ

Rated 5 out of 5 by djmac Very Useful - Saves Your Back
Bought 2 of the siphon hoses , 1 to use , 1 as backup in case the neighbors didn't return the one they borrowed. Very useful in transferring fuel from 6 gal cans to boat on the lift. Don't spill in lake. So easy I showed the grandkids how to do it. Now I sit on the deck and watch while they carry 30 gals of gas down a 200' dock.
