This life vest was much smaller than it says in the ad. I ordered a small adult size and received an extra small that appeared smaller than the child size that I originally purchased and had to return.
Will shop at a local sport store for a vest that is more realistic in size.

Great fitting jacket for larger people. Not too many jacket fit someone 6'4" 270lbs. Very lightweight and easy to adjust.

I just received the adult x-small. As an avid fisherman, I would be comfortable with putting this on a large grade school kid or a young teen. perhaps under 100 lbs to be sure. Another spot in the inside of the vest also says "Adult-Petite".A:Â
Our niece is almost 9, probably about 65 pounds and the XS is okay for her, though a littleloose. The S-M is good for her brothers, who are 12 & 14 and weigh 105 and 130 respectively. The 12 year old can wear the XS okay though it is a snugger fit..Details:Â

The vests are definitely Coast Guard approved. We wouldn't be using them if they weren't.A:Â
