Drop Shot Keeper This item does not work. I tried it twice with the two enclosed strips. Both strips came off within the first use. Try something esle. February 17, 2007
waste theyre very cheap but theyre garbage and they dont work at all, first time i put one on my rod the thing started falling apart November 8, 2007
Nice product The drop shot rig keeper does what it says. I prefer just using the drop shot on one of my 2008 Johnny Morris rods with the hook keeper on it that works really well with drop shot rigs, but if you don't have that this works well. It isn't much more than a strip of velcro, but it looks to be a little higher strength than standard grade velcro. Overall I would recommend this, it beats having the lead or tungsten swing around marring up rods, and wrapping itself around everything. June 29, 2008
Works as Advertised The biggest challenge is you create a risk situation resulting from the weight creating small imperfections in the rod, creating a higher probability it will break,,,just like when you create imperfections in line. The hook keep is the best way to pre-rig, and use the Bass pro drop shot weights that just pull onto your line when you start to fish. July 12, 2008

Straps your leader and weight to the lower portion of the rod handle so it isn't swinging around.

There are two velcro tabs. One secures the device to the reel handle, looking like a fabric ring; the other holds the drop shot weight. That tab looks like a small flap on top of the drop shot ring.

It holds the drop shot tightly to the rod, so it doesn't flop around. It keeps everything together, like the hook and drop weight. I have them and they work great.
