Rated 5 out of 5 by Fish in a wind storm...if you wanna?? On really windy days this drift anchor is a must have. A great design and very well made, this thing will slow your boat to a near stand still. March 30, 2009

Sizes by brands

Details:
The sizes of the bass pro brand seem to vary per boat size from other brands drift sock size i.e. 36" Bass Pro is rated for 18'-20 ft but Lindy brand 36" is rated for a 14-16' ft: why is that?

Different companies make them in different sizes. Just as if if you were to try on two items the same size but different makes they may not fit the same but they are the same size. Thanks

A:
The drift anchors are rated for boat size. My boat is 21 foot and the anchor I got was rated for a 22 to 26 foot boat. It works great. I got two so I could drift sideways.

A:
Lindy's chart recommends 25 - 30" for light wind, 36 - 42" for moderate wind, and 48 - 50" for strong wind for a boat 16 - 18' long.
