My first time crappie fishing with this combo the pole snapped in half. I had a tug on the line and when I set the hook, the pole broke.

The screaming yellow/green color appealed to my 14 yr old grandson. The reel works fine...the rod...is very lively/soft and makes it tough to set the hook on the warm water fish like perch, blue gill, crappie, and bass. However, when fishing for trout in a relatively snag-free lake, it is fun, since the sensitive soft rod acts like a big spring. Haven't caught anything largish on this rod...up to about 2 lbs. Could be interesting. Might be okay for kokanee. Didn't enjoy trolling with it all that much, but jigging or still fishing for trout is good.

Broke on the senond cast. It snaped right above the reel. Look like a clean brake, which means a flaw in the making of the rod.
