Bass Pro Shops Diamond Edge Hook File 4.4 5 11 11
An essential item for a tackle box This is the hook sharpener that I was looking for. I've used it on my crankbaits, plugs, spinners, spoons, plastics and hooks with great results. February 6, 2013
Great file I bought this file to use when sharpening my hooks. Normally, I would throw the hooks away and buy new ones but as you can imagine, that got pretty pricey. I have been using this file for my jig hooks. works perfectly. I haven't used the file with any hooks YET, but I can imagine it will work perfectly October 9, 2011
NECESSARY ITEM The hook sharpener has nice handle for file. The stone allows you to sharpen hooks and get extended use of hooks, which were becoming dull from fish catching and stump hang ups. Love the groove in stone which helps sharpening hook to a nice point. October 23, 2013
Sharp It can get the dullest hooks sharp in a cupple swipes. The only problem is there is no way to tell the difference between the 2 sides. The should mark which is the finest and which is the roughest side. February 20, 2014

The hook sharpener files the hook. One side is more course for filing and then use less coarse side for finishing touch. Both sides have groove for running hook up groove filing both sides of hook to point.

A:
very similar to a knife sharpener. and the grooves are for additional tuning and ease of use. i find it is easier with just a little spit. like a knife i sharpen into the pointrather than away. it is better than buying newhooks every season. saves a bundle.
