Bass Pro Shops Deluxe Mesh Top Life Jacket for Men
my review of the mesh top vest
I bought this to use in a float tube, not very good for this application, too thick in the back and the sides.
This would be a good light weight vest for use on a boat as the front panels are low enough to not get in the way of casting and such.
I will need to go to an inflatable vest of some sort for float tubing.
I would have given it five stars but it did not work for my needs.
Just so you know it has three or four layers of bouyancy material in the back and think three in the front panels each is about 1/4 to 3/8" thick overall it's about two inches or so thick in the back. But the vest is very light weight and the section that goes around your neck is comfortable. Like I said would be good for boat use, I did find the pockets useful.

Great Fishing Life Vest
Great fishing life vest, my problem was that I needed it for Kayak Fishing and like to carry my Marine Radio high on the vest. Problem one: the vest is thick in the back and gave me an uncomfortable feel in my normally comfortable kayak seat. Problem two: I wanted to carry my radio in the top pocket. With the jacket unzipped, the radio got in the way paddeling, with the jacket zipped and working the rod and reel I couldn't stop hitting the radio's buttons. I'm just going to put a lapel strap for my radio on a non-mesh jacket.

I needed a replacement vest to use while fishing from my runabout. As I was picking this out, an associate came over and told me that it would be the most comfortable PFD that I could buy. It fits great, and is easily adjustable if I wear heavier or lighter clothing.
As I was heading to the checkout, another marine associate, saw the vest in my hand and told me it was a great choice.
I am very happy with the looks, and it is not bulky when casting. I like the comfortable collar and the mesh to keep you cool.

At a certain age, wisdom overcomes youthful enthusiam. Finally got old enough, and fell enough fly fishing, to warrant a vest. After a lot of research from expert fly fisherman, auto inflates inflate in the rain. Manual inflates, you ain't got time or enough breath. This jacket, with the pockets works perfectly. I have actually found that I can still wear my fly vest over it. Check out the North Georgia Trout organization (NGTO). Case studies of people saved by their vest and Non Streaching belts on waiders.
