I purchased this item as a gift. I fish very little.
The recipient had mentioned having had these pliers in the past and how useful they were. He was quite pleased upon opening the gift and surprised that a non-fisher-person had located them.

I use these to clean catfish pretty often. I usually fish the local pond at least once a week. I clean anywhere between 5-10 catfish a week during the Summer months. These make it a whole lot easier than trying to use regular pliers.

I don't clean catfish often only once a year . I give it all away because I only eat crappie anymore. But when I do I use these and they truely are much better than regular pliers. A must have for catfishermen everywhere.
