Excellent buy! So today I landed a 5lb Bass with my light weight Crappie Maxx. Very surprised, I used a slip bobber with a jig and wax worm. I am using 10lb spiderwire fishing line, the rod is only rated for 8lbs but I feel safer with 10 and I am glad that I did. Over all very surprised with the flexablitiy and durabiltiy of this set up. It cast's great and retrieves great, I would definetly recommend this rod and reel for the price. Just disappointed I could not land that 2lb Crappie I was hoping for. Great buy!!!!! rods are junk Well I purchased 2 of these combos and already broke one rod about 12 inches down from tip and haven't even fished it yet actually It broke while I was putting line on it and I pulled down on line and snap I couldn't believe it wouldn't take that little bit. So il see if the other rod holds up in spring. reels seem ok idk we will see.but for 40 bucks a piece what do u expect January 8, 2015
Great Rod/Reel Combo Got this combo for my 8 year old son. He really loves it. He says it is really smooth and cast great. I tried it and have to agree. Weather vertical jigging or casting road runners, this combo has performed great. April 11, 2012
bad reel I like it when it's working, but the spool is not properly aligned on the shaft and the line likes to wind up inside of the drag on the front of the spool. Happens regularly enough that I will give it back for a discount on a new reel. I like the rod. February 22, 2014
