the best heaver combo for the money i know people always think that you need those 300 hundred to 400 heavers for saltwater but i bought this crappie pole and it is the best buy for the bargain and i have taken the reel apart and changed a few things and it is now castable i have caught many sharks and stingrays on this and it will hold up if careful i have 20 pound power pro on it and it holds up nicely i use 6 ounce weights and i always go surf fishing and go fishing off piers and catch BIG STUFF MAIGH!!!! im telling all of you saltwater and freshwater anglers buy this product and take it apart and go mess with the gears and put a cast control on it and it will cast NNIICCEE!!! i have the twelve footer too and it is so nice!!!! and you know what they say ITLL WORK MAIGH!!!!!!!!1 July 24, 2012
great combo I purchased two of these rods and put them straight to the test last weekend! We caught over 130 crappie throughout the weekend and never had a problem. I really liked the action of the rod which made it quite easy to feel the strike. Overall, I was very happy with it and think it is well worth the $$. June 28, 2012
crappie maxx slab grabber For the price you cant beat this combo. To me your basically buying the rod and getting the reel for free, and the reel is half way decent. Over all I'd say its a good set up it just doesn't quite have the back bone of some other expensive rods. I'd like to clear up some confusion on the other reviews. The reel is not made to cast! there's a reason why theyre called dipping rods...u dip them. manually let the line out that you want and "dip" the bait infront of the structure youre fishing with the long pole thats how its used. Worst combo I've ever bought I bought this rod and reel combo. There is no possible way to cast the darn thing. The only thing I could do is pull out the line. The line easily gets tangled up inside the reel. I would highly not recommend anybody to waste their money on this combo it is cheap! March 1, 2012
