Excellent rod for panfish. The rod is light weight but not wimpy! Handles 3/4oz lead for spider rigs..

Purchased rod to attempt fisring larger streams with a long rod at a reasonable price. Purchased the 14' three section which was important in that it breabs down to 4'8" to fit in the trunk. Results are that I am better able to manage currents and therefore the drift. The results have been more fish however you have to be willing to pay a price and there are tradeoff's. The price is a bulkey rod that is heavey and does take getting use to for changing hooks and managint tangkes. The trade off's are you cah not get into a lot of places, you have to back up wrere room allows and you will hit every thee in sight if you are not totally aware of your surroundings.

Combined with a new Quantum Spinning reel model from this year, it is a great fit. The handle took a little while getting used too but is fine now. Wish I could of gotten with the cork handle but wasn't in stock. For my type of fishing it reaaly works good, and provides excellent hook sets and longer casting distances. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an 8' rod for panfish.

With the economy I need to find something that I can use to jig and troll with. Is this rod capable of doing both?Answers
A:
I haven't trolled with this rod yet, but used a 1/2 oz. sinker and 2 1/8 oz jigs for spider rigging and it handled them with ease. This rod has a soft tip , with plenty of backbone.I'm sure it would troll small cranks very well. Keep in mind, it's a 'pandish' rod.
Good luck..
A:
Yes. This rod should be ample for doing both presentations for what you are looking for.1 of 1
