I cannot tell from the product description if the only difference is spool capacity or if one reel is actually larger/heavier than the other.

To me, if the line size is different, the reel size is different. On this type reel it is a matter of choice.

It is likely that the spools are the same except that the depth of each is different. The 4# test would have a shallower well than the 6#. I inquired to see if they sell spare spools, and they don't. Bummer, cuz I would get a spool for the other size line.
