Crankers: Stacy King wants you to LIGHTEN UP! Ain't broke--don't fix it. For some, that's good enough, but not for Stacey King and our product team. At Stacey's urging, they took one of the world's great specialty rods, applied some beyond-the-cutting-edge technology, and created the crankbaiter's dream rod! The Crankin' Stick's blank composition is a unique blend of IM6 graphite, fiberglass, and basalt fibers--yes, volcanic rock in its purest form, because of its ultra-high strength-to-weight ratio and incredible vibration resistance (you feel the bait working, not the rod). Result: the blank is now 20% lighter (it's ridiculous how good this rod still feels after casting deep divers or double-blades all day), strong as heck, and incredibly sensitive due to the rock-solid stability of the basalt fibers. The reel seat is a more-compact version of our original XPS® Soft Touch graphite seat, which makes the rod even lighter and easier to handle. Meanwhile, we use unidirectional, thin-wall construction to maximize feel, and of course our famous ''Fiberglass Feeling'' tip provides the distance and flexibility you count on. Other features include contoured PowerHump® premium cork handle, hard aluminum oxide guides, and Pro-Guard™ epoxy finish.

I recently purchased this rod in the 7' Medium action model while it was on sale. I paired the rod with a $50 reel spooled with 20lb. braid with a 6-8 inch17lb. fluorocarbon leader. I've been throwing crank baits weighing from 3/16 to 3/4 ounce with no problems. The rod picks up the vibration from the bait and passes it to your hands really well. Its easy to feel the bait along the bottom and thru structure with this rod. I've landed fish up to 6 lbs. and the rod has enough backbone to handle the fight and is forgiving enough to not let the fish throw the bait on a hard jump. I'm not a big fan of the hump in the handle but that's just my preference. For the money its a great crank bait rod and matches well against some of the more expensive rods.

Pair this with a Pro Qualifier reel and you have a setup that cannot be even touched for the price. I will definitely buy one or two more.

Recently purchased the 7'10" MH Crankin Stick and paired it with a BPS Pro Qualifier in 4.7:1. This is my new go-to setup for any larger crankbaits like 2.5 squarebills, 6XDs, 10XDs, and spinnerbaits in the 1oz range. The sensitivity in this rod is amazing. I can feel anything and everything going on with my bait, BUT I don't feel like I'm being shook by it like other rods often make you feel. There is also something to be said for how LIGHT this rod is. At 7'10" and being MH, you would think it would be tiring to powerfish all day... NOPE! I can wing big baits and crank all day long without any noted difference in stamina. I love this rod, and you will, too!
