Bass Pro Shops® Crankin' Stick™ Casting Rod
Crankers: Stacy King wants you to LIGHTEN UP! Ain't broke--don't fix it. For some, that's good enough, but not for Stacey King and our product team. At Stacey's urging, they took one of the world's great specialty rods, applied some beyond-the-cutting-edge technology, and created the crankbaiter's dream rod! The Crankin' Stick's blank composition is a unique blend of IM6 graphite, fiberglass, and basalt fibers--yes, volcanic rock in its purest form, because of its ultra-high strength-to-weight ratio and incredible vibration resistance (you feel the bait working, not the rod). Result: the blank is now 20% lighter (it's ridiculous how good this rod still feels after casting deep divers or double-blades all day), strong as heck, and incredibly sensitive due to the rock-solid stability of the basalt fibers. The reel seat is a more-compact version of our original XPS® Soft Touch graphite seat, which makes the rod even lighter and easier to handle. Meanwhile, we use unidirectional, thin-wall construction to maximize feel, and of course our famous ''Fiberglass Feeling'' tip provides the distance and flexibility you count on. Other features include contoured PowerHump® premium cork handle, hard aluminum oxide guides, and Pro-Guard™ epoxy finish.

I prefer this older style rod. They can have the long handle ones. Give me the pistol grip! Insist on Bass Pro shipping it FedEx, not USPS! Why BassPro still uses USPS as its primary shipping source is beyond me.

I bought three (3) of the rods and I am not pleased with them due to the fact that they are too stiff for a med action rod using a 1/4 ounce bait, need more flex, other than that . The rod is well made and the # of eyes are the best .

I have been Crankin with and Lew's Lazer rod for over 25 years knew the day would come when it break, it did last month. While searching for a replacement I ran across this rod while searching on line. So I drove to my local Bass Pro Shop in Concord where I could put the rods in hand to decide on the right replacement. there I was able to handled and do side by side comparisons wtih Browing's silaflex, Fritt's,KVD's, Skeet's,& this BPS rod.Found all ether too whippie, HEAVY or too expensive. Was so happy to find a 7'6'' MH on the shelve at this store. Even happier when this store manager honored the online sale price. I purchased it & went to the lake that afternoon. Combined it with a shimano reel, 10lb line and a new x6 crankbait was more than satisfied with flex, sensitivity, was lighter that any of the fiberglass and most of the new style BRIGHT COLORED rods. For alot less than another other true Crankin rod!
