CatMaxx Circle Hooks I ordered the CatMaxx Circle Hooks they came within a few days. I used them and they worked great on the 27 lb. Grouper June 19, 2013
Hooks bent Bought these hooks for a trip to the Florida Keys last month. Did quite a bit of reef fishing and found that the hooks bent easily with even small 2-4lb reef fish. At first we thought it was a fluke but it kept happening. Its possible that these were not the correct hooks for the fishing application but the ones we purchased at the bait store looked the same and did not bend. January 15, 2015
What A Great Hook I fish for big cats in the St Louis and St Charles Mo area. I purchased the 9/0 hooks was very surprised how well they work. These hooks are very sharp and strong. On Sept 6th night fishing on the Mississippi River I caught a 80lb Blue. That was my P/B. September 24, 2013
Good Hooks I have used these hooks just once and I have found them to do the job just fine. I caught several 9 - 10 Lb and a 17 1/2 Lb Channel Cat on them and hooked fine with no help from me. They appear to be strong enough for anything I'll ever catch. June 22, 2012

They are inline however, many people give them a light offset with plyers.

A:
Circle hooks are mostly unknown by those that don't salt water fish, they almost always hook into the side of the mouth, are self hooking, only a tug is need to set hook, saves a lot of fish that would swallow the hook.

I don't see why not, although I've never fished for smallmouth with these, catfish and ocean fish mostly, almost always hooks in side of the mouth.

A:
These would not be optimal for small mouth....Don't use live bait or set the hook sooner = less guthooks.
