Bass Pro Shops® CatMaxx™ CMX Series Spinning Rods
I was looking for a Catfish rod to give me long casts and also power to haul em in.
This rod is it! I have tried other rods but this rod does both much better. Very nice power, you can feel the control and also casts longer than all my other rods. I have 4 CatMaxx rods now and getting ready to buy 2 more. If your looking for the perfect rod to fish from the bank for big cats. Look no further. And the price cant be beat. Thanks Bass Pro for a great product.

I bought the 8' rod and the action is very stif. It is more than cable of bringing in fish more then its weight capacity. Casts far! Well made. I plan on bying 2 more for catfishing.

I OWN A 9 FOOT CATMAXX ROD AND I AM VERY PLEASED THAT IT IS SO STRONG AND DURABLE, AS WELL AS SENSITIVE WHEN GETTING ANY TYPE OF BITE. I USE THIS ROD IN SALTWATER FROM THE BANK AND I HAVE CAUGHT HUGE STING RAYS BACK TO BACK WITH NO PROBLEMS, SKATES, SHARKS, AND HALIBUT. STILL NO STURGEON THOUGH, BUT WHEN THE TIME COMES I KNOW I WILL BE ABLE TO DEPEND ON MY CATMAXX ROD.

No the chart is wrong!!!!! Since it is for BIG catfish the weights (sinkers) will be up to 8oz and some of the listed line weights are wrong, don't try to toss an 8oz sinker with those. Also the 10' rod is sometimes listed as MH and some times H, I am sure it is "H" heavy.
These rods feature a relatively quick tip so as long as your using a line thats good for casting like trilene xl or a smaller braid then yes is will throw the lighter weights without a problem as long as your not throwing a delicate livebait that might be torn from the hook. But the 8' model is one peice, thats something to keep in mind when transportation is an issue.
