The Bass Pro Shops Cat-O-Matic lures, catches and automatically holds all takers. Made from galvanized steel, the Cat-O-Matic is equipped with a tempered spring that automatically sets the hook when the trigger is released by a fish taking the bait. Popular among crappie and catfish anglers, simply attach the Cat-O-Matic to a limb or a boat dock a couple of inches above the water and let the reel do the rest. 4 pack. Approximately 14' of 60-lb. test line.

It works better than just tying a string to a tree. The spring mechanism is a little junky but what do you expect for the price.

Very sturdy construction. Although I have not caught anything with the cat-o-matic yet I am very imperssed with its ease of opperation. I am looking forward to getting a lot of use out of these basic automatic reel's. I am working on a way to hook these to my buddies pontoon with out fastening them permanently.

Don't waste your money on these. Buy the original made by White's. They are much better quality and cheaper to boot. You can usually buy them buy the dozen for $20 - $24.

it does not pull the fish out of the water unless the catch is a bluegill or other small fishA:Â
It would keep the line tight but would not pull even 12 inch fish out of the water.A:Â
I had one simular to this unit a few years ago ,and if you are fishing for Brim/bluegill ,yes it will reel them in ! It was strong enough to do that when I owned one! "Good Luck!"1 of 1
