If you want to test your gear, just hook into a thrashing catfish. If you have more important things to worry about than the strength of your gear, just choose a Bass Pro Shops' Cat Buster Spinning Combo. They’re overbuilt with heavy-duty muscle and ready to handle any cranky catfish you might encounter.

The Cat Buster Reel boasts a 3-bearing system for smooth operation plus an anodized forged aluminum spool and stainless steel bail wire for strength and durability. Other features include a front drag with six washers. The reel comes pre-spooled with hi-vis yellow monofilament line.

Pole-bending cats are no match for the two-piece Cat Buster Rod with its light, but strong, graphite composite blank. This rod also boasts aluminum oxide guides for lightweight durability plus a comfortable cat-fightin' EVA foam handle and a graphite reel seat with cushioned hood.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Rod OK; Reel Defective This rod seems stout. The bad thing is I had to replace the reel before 1st use because it would not travel a complete rotation without getting stuck at the bottom of the reeling motion. Kind of a bummer. September 9, 2012
