I own three abu garcia reels that I purchased in the late 60's. early 70's. They were retired a few years ago due to the ones purchased recently.
One day I decided to upgrad the reels by replacing the original handles with the Bass Pro Shops® Casting Reel Power Replacement Handles. I'm really glad I did. What a difference it makes when reeling in a good sized Bass.
Now I don't have to keep my old faithful reels in a dark damp box any more. I've put them on some new IM6 Poles I purchased and use those outfits for friends and family who want to go out fishing with me. Good purchase and good save for my reels.

Read one of the earlier reviewers who put it on a Cardiff so I thought I would give them a try. I put it on my Cardiff 400's. The hole on the handle is a little big for the reel but if you position it properly and snug the bolt down well it seems ok. I had to use the original bolt that came with the reel as the one that comes with the handle is too large. Also, I had to drill through the plastic retaining cap to get it to fit over the Shimano bolt. These handles are just slightly longer than the ones that came with the reels but that little bit seems to make a big difference when reeling in double 10's.

I replaced the smaller roller-type handle on my old Quantum 1310mg and it's great! Was easy to replace so I got 2 more for another reel I mainly use as alternate for river salmon and striper and gave my brother 1 of them. ...and since there was a little gold in each of the reels, I got the gold anodized handles and they give the reels a new look. The paddles and large size make the retrieve a breeze!!

I purchased this handle because I was recently in a boating accident that left my previous reel handle bent beyond repair. It works great and it is super smooth. I will definitely purchase additional handles as I have several other Abu Garcia reels that have either sticky knobs on the crank or just need refurbished beacuse they are older. I like the added benefit of the larger crank when puttin the skids on larger fish.

They will fit 5000-6000 series ABU round or low profile reels. Locking nuts are available directly from ABU service center or any full service reel repair place.

This handle is being advertised as a Universal Handle. I purchased one of these handles to put on my Ambassadeur Reel circa late 1960's, and it fit perfectly.
