Bass Pro Shops XPS Casting Reel Power Replacement Handles 4.4 5 49 49
Outstanding replacement This is for a well worn ABU round baitcaster....the old handle simply wore out. This is a good fit, and being a little longer than the original makes for more power applied to the reel and has breathed new life into an otherwise indestructible reel that has well over 15 hard years of usage, both for pleasure and tournament fishing under its' belt. Best Upgrade for your reel!! I love these handles!!! I have two of my reels with them on my crankbait rods. I have a Crankin Stick that I love so i figured the longer handle would allow for smoother retrieves of crankbaits without the extra resistance you sometimes experience from various hard baits. These are going on all of my rods, now matter what I use it for. They add a very noticeable increase in torque and power. Get em for yourself and you will see what I mean!!! August 29, 2008
Bass Pro Shops® Casting Reel Power Replacement Han Read one of the earlier reviewers who put it on a Cardiff so I thought I would give them a try. I put it on my Cardiff 400's. The hole on the handle is a little big for the reel but if you position it properly and snug the bolt down well it seems ok. I had to use the original bolt that came with the reel as the one that comes with the handle is too large. Also, I had to drill through the plastic retaining cap to get it to fit over the Shimano bolt. These handles are just slightly longer than the ones that came with the reels but that little bit seems to make a big difference when reeling in double 10's. October 19, 2010
poor description, excellent product the written description for these power handles is very poor. first of all, these are 97mm (3-3/4 inches) long post-to-post and about 4-1/8 inches long overall, not even close to the printed 4-1/2 inches. still, this about the perfect length for a power handle. the knobs are nice and grippy. in the photos, they look like hard plastic but they're actually firm but pliable like a pencil eraser. the knobs must be ball-bearing supported because they spin very, very freely. i tried these on my ABU garcia round reels, revos, and a couple of BPS reels and it fit them all, including the nut. they will NOT fit low profile shimano reels however as shimano uses a smaller-diameter crankshaft. fit and finish is very good and above what i expected for $10.99. i was so please, i just ordered a few more to replace the handles on all my round reels. these look much better than the photos on the website and catalog. Weight of Handles?

Details:
Does anyone know the weight of these handles in comparison to the standard pro qualifier handle weight? My guess is there is no significant difference but i just don't have the data to make that assumption.
Thanks!

These handles will be similar in weight. Both have a metal frame, so any weight difference will be in the paddles.

This handle is being advertised as a Universal Handle. I purchased one of these handles to put on my Ambassadeur Reel circa late 1960's, and it fit perfectly.
