Bass Pro Shops Cane Pole
The 14 foot cane pole I ordered was without fault and handled a 13 inch black crappie pretty well.

Bass Pro Cane Pole
Exactly what I have been looking for. Not only useful for bank fishing, but for small ponds as well I do some re enacting and this pole is perfect for late 1600's and 1700's colonial America. Thanks for making available.

acceptable for the price
I was tired of my kids having problems with fishing reels so I decided to try to find them cane poles like the ones I used in Georgia as a kid. I couldn't find any locally so I went with these mail order poles even though it was clear from reviews they would not be as sturdy. As expected, they are flimsier than the ones I used as a kid. I had to work on them a bit to get the two pieces to stay together more firmly. For the price, though, I can't complain. And more important, my kids are catching fish.

I recieved my cane poles and was unpleasantly suprised. They were about a half inch thinner than my poles that I usually use, the part where they connect comes off the place that it is supposed to be stationary, not to mention that they regularly fall apart. I have fished with cane poles for years and years and unfortunately these are not up to par. There is no way I could catch more than a bluegill with them.
