On Easter Monday, this year , I was thrown from my Bantam 2X while being towed back to the dock with a dead battery. During the ride back I hit a large wave and was ejected from the boat into 35 degree water and almost immediately went into shock. At the last minute I remembered My MI24 vest and reached down for the red tab and the vest worked perfectly saving my life. The next time someone grips about the cost of the refills remind them for me that $22.00 is a whole lot better than a $6,000 funeral. Thanks again Bass Pro !!!!!!!!!!!

Ordered 2 vests. Qualtiy of the vest and straps is fine but the safety pin on one of the vests was broken on arrival.

I bought this inflateable vest for use while duck hunting.
When it arrived and I read the instruction manual, I learned that it will not work in temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit unless "partially inflated" ahead of time. Nowhere was the term "partially inflated" defined. Does this mean 10%, 25%, 50% or 90% ? Even if I knew what "partially inflated" meant, How would I be able to measure the degree to which the vest was "partially inflated"? Besides that, having to wear the vest "partially inflated" defeats the advantage of the vest being inflateable.
Since duck hunting is usually done in cold weather, often well below freezing, I returned the vest to Bass Pro Shop and they gave me a refund.
This vest would probably be OK for use in warm weather but, despite being camoflage, it is not suitable for use while duck hunting.

Technically, PFD's such as our inflatable vests do not carry a maximum weight limit but rather a buoyancy rating. This is because a large majority of an individual actually doesn't weigh anything when submerged in water. The following link may explain this in more detail:http://www.boatsafe.com/kids/buoyan...
So, this vest should work for most individuals. If you would like more assistance in determining your buoyancy needs please call us at 1-800-227-7776 or e-mail us through our customer service page.
