Engineered for sensitivity, Bass Pro Shops Bionic Blade XPS Spinning Rods are the first spinning rods to feature our exclusive PowerHump Grip—the most comfortable grip in fishing. The Bionic Blade’s 50-million modulus, revolutionary, 4-layer blank is built with our new ArmorCore Technology—a stronger-than-steel aramid fiber core, wrapped with strong, flexible fiberglass, and finished with layers of IM8 and IM7 graphite to make this one of the most powerful, lightweight rods you'll ever fish with.
A multi-purpose hook keeper allows you to snug in a dropshot weight, rigged worm, spinnerbait, or crankbait. No more loose hardware! Pacific Bay Hialoy guide sets are perfectly spaced for virtually friction-free line flow and maximum casting performance and sensitivity. This rod's premium contoured cork handle with full cork butt offers extreme comfort, fatigue resistance and leverage. Once you go Bionic, you'll never go back.

by AJHauser Decent Rod
This is a decent rod - but I have the same issue with all of my BP BIonic Blade rods - and that is that the enamel (or whatever the clear hard glue is that is used to cover the guide bindings) tends to crack under stress. Still, these are good rods for the money - but keep your eyes peeled and watch for cracks near the guides where they meet the blank that need to be touched up.

i have the 6ft Med action. this is probably on of the best rods you will ever buy for the money. It's super lightweight and the construction and craftsmanship on these rods is beautiful. the IM8 graphite is super sensitive and casting with it is very predictable even on the first cast. I love how progressive the rod flex is too. I've had other Med action rods where only the top 2 feet bend, and others where its a noodle.
as for the hump in the handle now. well, i dont know if its the most comfortable grip ever, but you do get used to it. my only issue i had with this is the hook keeper. instead of a little wire loop it now has a bend in it on the right side of the rod. when i reel in slack line from a cast too quickly, sometimes it gets caught on the keeper and i have to fix it.
oh well. i still give it 5 stars because thats how much i love this rod

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ranger1 Great rods for the dollar.
I have two of these rods, 1 older one, and 1 new one, the older one has the cork grip while the newer one has the split EVA foam grip with the exposed reel seat. The sensitivity is very good for a 50 million modulus blank. I do like the Extreme series better (60 million modulus) it seems to be a little more sensitive but they stopped making the 6' med heavy spinning model so I have to go with the Bionic Blade now (I have a 6' truck bed so I can't use longer rods unless I'm on my boat.) Overall I'd say you can't go wrong with the Bionic blade, durable, sensitive, a good value for the dollar.

My two cousins and my uncle use these up in Canada when we go fishing every year. We catch bass, pike, crappie, walleye, gar, etc. I use one of theirs when they weren't out and fell in love with it. I finally was able to buy one, and I absolutely love it. I've used $200+ Shimano's, and this by far beats them, especially for the price. The new hump in the grip is really nice too.
