Engineered for sensitivity, Bass Pro Shops Bionic Blade XPS Spinning Rods are the first spinning rods to feature our exclusive PowerHump Grip—the most comfortable grip in fishing. The Bionic Blade’s 50-million modulus, revolutionary, 4-layer blank is built with our new ArmorCore Technology—a stronger-than-steel aramid fiber core, wrapped with strong, flexible fiberglass, and finished with layers of IM8 and IM7 graphite to make this one of the most powerful, lightweight rods you'll ever fish with.
A multi-purpose hook keeper allows you to snug in a dropshot weight, rigged worm, spinnerbait, or crankbait. No more loose hardware! Pacific Bay Hialoy guide sets are perfectly spaced for virtually friction-free line flow and maximum casting performance and sensitivity. This rod's premium contoured cork handle with full cork butt offers extreme comfort, fatigue resistance and leverage. Once you go Bionic, you'll never go back.

Gone are the days when you could count on buying a really good rod from BPS at a decent price. This rod does not come close to the Bionic Blade versions of 10 years past. The real seat has an exposed section of composite threads exactly where your fore finger lies when gripping the rod, sharp enough to cut if not careful. Must wrap with tape to be comfortable and prevent injury. Handle is too long and too small and I have relatively small hand (Medium Large Golf Glove).
Granted, it could be argued that I should have found all the deficiencies when I purchased the rod, but I was in a bit of a rush and did not notice these issue until I was at home and mounted the real. Besides, I had to search through 6 rods on the rack to find one that had line guides aligned relatively strait. I have 4 of the older models that I always thought were great, but this new version is not worth bring home. I gave it one star because the blank and the finish are OK and there was not an option for zero stars.

Quality product. I have the 6ft medium action paired with a Pflueger President. I love it. It is one of my favorite setups.

Really nice rod, I have the 5'6 ultralite paired with a Shimano Stradic FJ 1000. Great combo for trout, rod is lite weight, great backbone for the big one. Hump in handle is more comfortable than i thought it would be. Great rod for the money!

This is a decent rod - but I have the same issue with all of my BP BIonic Blade rods - and that is that the enamel (or whatever the clear hard glue is that is used to cover the guide bindings) tends to crack under stress. Still, these are good rods for the money - but keep your eyes peeled and watch for cracks near the guides where they meet the blank that need to be touched up.
