Personally I would use Thundermist Lure T-turn swivel. You will never get a tangle with these.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try myself. That way you can use two different baits. Just be sure you use a slip sinker ABOVE the terminal tackle assembly.
Sounds like you might be going after trophy blues. I think a heavier rod would be in order for that job.
This rod is a medium power, fast tip.
To answer your question directly I believe it will handle braided line quite well. Just stay within the recommendations printed on the rod.
