Purchased this lighter thinking that it was a cool item and fit my decor in the Man Cave. However, after making home and using it twice it nolonger lights without 30 to 40 tries. The flame is also so small that if you did get it lit the mere pressure of the gas coming from the BBQ would blow it out.
From all of the clicking to get to work the screws are falling out of it to boot!
Not at all impressed with this product.

Can't seem to get the lighter to work. Tried adjusting the flame but no luck, I'm assuming it needs butane.

1. IF YOU HAVE TURNED UP THE ADJUSTMENT SCREW, WHEEL OR HANDLE TO INCREASE THE FLAME WHEN THE BUTANE WAS LOW, TURN IT DOWN NOW2. Locate the Refill Port on your lighter. On most lighters, it appears as a round hole with an "eye" in the middle.
3. With the Butane Gas can pointing down to the refill port, push the can's nozzle into the port.
Rotate it a little to make sure it is engaged. Push down on the can and fill. You may need to pump it up and down slightly.
When the lighter is full, you will get a little overflow or spray back. STOP. Remove the Butane can.
Butane will not ignite in cold temperatures. Warm your refilled lighter to room temperature before igniting.
Before lighting, turn the adjustment wheel or screw to low.

To light the lighter you will need to push up on the button under the reel. Make sure the flame is not on low. Look at the bottom of the lighter pole to see the adjustments. Otherwise, if it will not light then it might be out of fluid butane.Images for this Answer

On the bottom of the lighter/pole, you should be able to adjust the flame. You might need a flat head screwdriver to be able to adjust the flame. ThanksQ:Â

Do I need a special kind/brand of butane to refill the Baitcast fishing pole charcoal lighter?

We need something to light a furnace that has a small hole to go through. All regular long lighters that are 12" in length, the tube is only about 4-4 1/2". It is to short to reach the pilot light.Answers
