Bass Pro Shops Angler's Mini-Tool
Good tool when fishing or camping
It is a good tool when you need to get a hook out of a fish out or cut some string. One problem I had with it is when I closed it, the pliers got stuck in the light but I found out a way to prevent that, and when my hands are wet I cant grip the pliers.

Nice gift, for occasional use only
I bought one of each size. The larger one was of really bad quality. Blades became loose after a week of use and they dangerously unfold easily. You can fix it just by tightening the nut on the base. The small model has more dignity; is better finished and so far after more than a year is still in place. I would recommend this tool only if you plan to use it occasionally. The pliers alone are acceptable and have a close bite though.
The flashlight on both models is the same, for its size it lights fair enough. Changing the batteries can be somehow problematic; I had to use an aluminum foil piece at the bottom to make them fit snugly.

I expected these to work great because most Bass Pro products are very good quality. However, with these, that was not the case. The tools were very low grade and were not very helpful. The pliers were decent, however, the area where you cut your line was offset and I could not even cut the thickest line i have. Overall, a very bad purchase.

great for the price
The saying "you get what you pay for" is generally a good rule. These pliers almost were an exception. For seven bucks these are a steal. These stand up to all weather. If these are to tight than a little WD-40 usually fixes the problem. The metal does not rust and the finish has not scratched or chipped yet. Flashlight is not the best quality but what did you expect? Everything you would find on a high priced tool is present here. Don't, however, even bother trying to cut line with the wire cutters. As the name suggests they are ment only for wire. These are worth twice the price. If you only fish or use these a few times a month this product is great. If used more often I would get a nicer pair or a seperate pair of pliers. The only thing I would change is adding a rubber lining to the outside to make the pliers more comfortable. The rubber may spike the price, though. As always, Bass Pro gives us quality products at a great price. They have saved many a low-budget angler.
