It took me over 4 months to find this product. Have had 2 cabinet doors that open up on boat that the old springs were damaged. This was the exact replacement and door no longer falls on your head.

I want to find some thing that will hold open the lid for my livewells, rod and storage compartment to allow me to use both hands tofind that I need without fear of the lid fall on my head or hands.

SHould work fine but depends on how heavy a lid. If the lid when open is straight up then they work great.
