Bass Pro Shops 5-3/4'' Heavy-Duty Split Ring Pliers
Do not, never ever buy
First review for me, background for me, many years of fishing. Internet provides a way to buy a lot of cheap lures. Cheap lures = shipped with no hooks. Needed a tool to help with split rings/hook insertion. Bought this at store. BAD CALL. 1. The point is too big to split a ring. 2. Dont buy, using a pair of long nose pliers would work 10x better. If you buy this, you are wasting your money. Some tools are less effective but you can still use them. This tool, if purchased, will become the most useless tool in you tacklebox.
MIT PHD, you have been warned

...like...i have used this plier for yrs now...and as it is stated...and can be seen if in a bp store...they are *HEAVY DUTY* and for the LARGER split rings.. so please outsmart a plier and PAY ATTENTION to what you are buying/wanting...it is bright as day the differance in between the three bp split ring pliers..i have three all for DIFFERANT split ring usage... i dont get it...??...my review on this bp split ring pliers cannot be any more up front and clear on how to identify...HEAVY DUTY....leave all other rings out of these...uless you like bawling....

I had several baits that I wanted to replace and change out hooks on. Normally I do this with my fingernails and an o-ring pick which works beautifully compared to these pliers. Save your money and aggravation by not purchasing these pliers.

While it works excellent on large split rings, it's too large to fit through the hole on small split rings. I modified it by grinding down the bottom to a smaller size. Works great now.
