Rated 5 out of 5Â by catchemall27 great kit for panfish, crappie and smallmouth
this kit is great i can use the bright colured grubs for panfish and crappie then try the crawfish coloured ones for smallmouth. tried these in nothern ontario and worked well with everything except pike, they just tear it up man, but other than that great kit nice colours and lots a good fishing time. also great starter kit for young kids.

I needed to beef up my panfish jigs and after looking on several different websites and looking at many different kits I finally settled on this one. I ordered it and a short couple of days later(thanks to BPS's great shipping service!) I was able to take it out on the water and break it in. I was extremely impressed with this kit and the good variety of jigs it provided. I found the crawfish to be most effective my first morning out, landing me about a dozen hand sized bluegill and green sunfish before I moved on to some bass fishing.
The jigs seem to be pretty rugged and held up well to some pretty aggressive green sunfish. I was a little reluctant to purchase this kit at first due to the price but after using it and putting it to the test I'm extremely pleased with the overall buy.
If you are looking for a good variety of panfish jigs at a reasonable price then spendbthe money and invest in this kit!

I think that the kit is a little pricier then it should be, but it is a good assortment.

Try matching the lure color to the tint of the water. If that doesn't work, try contrasting to the water. When fish stop biting try switching to a new color this may cause the bigger crappie to start biting.Answers

The best way I've found to use these jigs is to tie them on, cast them out and let them sink to the bottom. then, slowly pull up on the rod, allowing the lure to bounce off the bottom as you retrieve. With a little practice and patience, you'll be able to find that sweet spot and reel in some big crappie.Another option is to bounce it slowly off the bottom by lifting your rod tip up a few inches and let it jig in place. This works best when fishing in heavy cover or off of a pier or dock.

I catch bass, bluegills and Crappie on them as well as saltwater fish too. I have not found a fish that does not love the mix of tails and colors in this kit.Top 100 Contributor

I have found that the bluegills that I catch rally like the darker colors, browns and blacks, but the chartruese and the reds also get their fair share of fish when you are using them.Top 100 Contributor

In Rhode Island, I found the best colors were the oranges, reds, and golds--especially during late Spring/early Summer. However, with a kit like this, it's easy (and cheap) to experiment with different combinations.Top 50 Contributor

Try to match the tiny baitfish, flys, and even worms. choosing similar colors will increase you cast to fish ratio1- Tight lines
