I was pleased with this when we received it. The only issue I have with it is the pot was all scratched up like it was used as a demo. Other than that it is good. Since this was a Christmas gift would have liked for the pot not to have been scratchd up the way it was

Just finished cooking the sixth turkey since I bought this thing a year ago. A few things to say about it. First, I'm not two pleased with the workmanship, or the quality of the pans for that matter. Some of the worst welds are on this product, that I worry that it will break apart.(not really a problem for me since I'm a welder, I can fix it, just shouldn't have too for the price I paid.) the pan is made from very thin material. Especially the lid, I can't set it down without it getting some new dent, which can be easily fixed with my fingers. That being said, though, the burner keeps up quite easily with the task of frying a 22 lb turkey in just over an hour!! The timer is a little obnoctious, but I just check the oil temp every ten minutes, and turn the timer back up. The gas valve turns backwards, and that is very obnoctious, even with arrows on the valve, it just doesn't seem right. There is a steamer grill that inmy opinion should be used while frying to keep the bird off the direct heat of the burner, but this causes me to have to put an extra three inches of oil in th pan over the max fill line. Some kind of cook book might have been nice, but this isn't my first rodeo, so I knew what I was in for, and everybody wants me to fry a turkey for them. Now that I can do the bigger birds, I don't have to do two side by side in smaller cookers. All in all a good piece of equipment to have if it can stay together. Not for a first timer though I'm thinking, or at least try the first time with an 18 lb bird. The large fry pan has specialized handles that allow it to set on the rim of the pan for draining, and checking the birds temp. That's probably the neatest feature of the whole kit.

We cooked up enough fish to feed 13 people and we were able to eat with them instead of getting in on the tail end of the meal. We are planing in getting alot of use out of this cooker this summer and looking forward to Thanksgiving to fry up a turkey

Used Turkey Fryer to boil 4- 2lb. Lobsters and 1 3lb. Lobster, all fit at the same time. Did a great job! Love all the possiblities.
I do not like the timer, you really have to pay attention to where you set it right away. It's toy like and difficult to gauge where it is so in the middle of boiling lobster it did go off unexpectantly.
Came w/ instructions but no recipes like most things I buy.
Best bonus is 36 quart which is extremely expensive but not with this unit.

I don't see why not. As long as it is large enough to not fall in between the grid. A twelve inch Dutch oven should work well on this burner. The burner is a little difficult to control for specialized cooking, but I think it could be mannaged.A:
Any cookware that can take direct flame will work with this unit, you will need to remove the pot guides to allow other cookware to fit on the flat surface above the burner.Answers

It turns out that there was a “CSA regulation change this year where all Turkey fryers could be no more than 38,000 BTUs and 5PSI. This is an industry standard that we have to follow. That is why the information was listed as 58,000 BTUs. This will be changed to 38,000. Thanks!Answers
