I bought this fryer for home brewing purposed and for camping and turkeys.
Work fine. The quality is average for cookers. The pot comes scratched. But it ain't for looking at.
I was disappointed that it was made in China, I tried to find the disclosed country of origin at purchase, but it's not available. I would like to see more products from USA in Bass Pro's line up.

This is so far been a good cooker. The only downside to it so far is the timer. I personally don't like having to use a timer.

This low-priced fryer did exceptionally well. Fried a perfect turkey Thanksgiving day and performed flawlessly. I misplaced the directions (!) but assembled the unit using the pictures on the web site and the box. I do disagree with the cooking instructions saying cook at 325 degrees for 3.5 minutes per pound, I prefer 350 degrees at 3 min per pound plus 5 minutes and the turkey tasted great. A good value for under $50.

I bought this fryer over 2 years ago, and have fried 8-10 turkeys with it since, and it works flawlessly. Yes, you may want to pay more money for a stainless steel pot, but I figure I will buy a stainless pot once this one gives up the ghost, but it is showing no signs of deterioration at all.
I have used other, more expensive fryers in the past, which didn't have enough burner Btu's to get the oil temperature back up to optimal frying temperature (325-350F) after putting the bird in, but this one has more than enough Btu's. You actually need to watch that you don't over heat the oil, and I have always had to turn the burner down to avoid that. I will say that I am not certain my fryer burner is the 38,000 Btu one noted on this description; I had thought it was larger, but this is otherwise the model that I have.
The timer is a bit of a pain, but as I understand it, it is a legal requirement in this age of litigousness! Get used to it.
My pot fit perfectly inside the safety brackets, which other fryers I have used in the past did not have. This is a significant safety upgrade from past fryers I have used.
I have recommended this to several friends.
