Buy it on sale, but good value for the money. You still need the stand for frying a bird, but I use it for tomato sause making (LOL) so I don't need that stand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LDWELLS Great Sap Sucker
Bought it to boil Sap, works better than I anticipated. Much more heat transfer than expected easy to light. The only pro. is that you have to reset the timer every 20 minutes. But if that is the only negative, I can live with it. It appears to be more durable then others I have seen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by chillnthemost great product
Got this for Christmas, have used it many times for multiple purposes. I actually haven't cooked a Turkey in it yet but, it has seen hundreds of chicken wings, corn dogs, corn smokey's, tostido chips, and, deep fried mars bars. It has been used for cooking and heat while ice fishing and multiple functions like super bowl. LOVE THIS THING!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by tocoba Turkey Fryer
Bought mine several years ago, fried a half dozen turkeys, countless wing & fish frys using this thing and it is great.
I bought the basket (sold separately) to frying other things though you can just drop the turkey into the fry basket instead of using the hook and it works fine.
Downside is the pot is aluminum though you aren't paying as much either. I would step it up and buy the stainless pot for ease of cleaning.

i want to know how long to cook the turkey. i need to know by early night,Answers
A:
3minutes per pound.A:
Keep temp at 375. 18 lb bird check breast temp after about 45 to 50 minutes. 22 lb bird 55 to 60 minutes. Breast temp should be above 160. Oil temp can fluctuate between 350 and 400, but 375 is ideal.Details:
it is are second time using it and started having problem about the end of first fry. The base keeps loosing its flame unless we hold the ignition button inAnswers
A:
When the twenty minute timer runs out it stops the gas flow. You are supposed to check your oil temp every ten to fifteen minutes, and turn the timer back up to max time. The ignition button will bypass the timer, but as soon as you let it go the timer has priority again and will shut it back off.A:
Turn timer knob clockwise. The timer only stays lit with LP for 15 minutes.A:
Note: Cycle time for timer is around 20 minutes. If the timer is not reset within around 20 minutes, the burner will shut OFF automatically. If this occurs, please follow lighting instructions and continue to cook. In addition, you might return the product for a replacement cooker or contact the technical department for further assistance by calling 1-888-837-1380. I hope this helps. ThanksDetails:
Can this unit boil water? If so... How long does it take? The stainless steel version says it can boil, steam, and fry, but this one does not specify. They both have the same BTU though.
I'm using it to boil water for instant coffee and hot chocolate at large events.

Yes it can and quickly. I use my fryer to boil tomato sause and it does a great job during tomato canning season.A:
I don't see why not. I use mine for all kind of cooking and no problems.A:
Yes it can do the things you ask ,The only thing it Does not have is a spout.I would Buy the other one because it is steel and would be able to handle the abuse of use during such events and Easy to use because it does have an easy pour spout .Top 250 Contributor
A:
Yes, it easily boils water. How long depends on how much water you put in there, but it's got a great burner, so it will not take long.Answers
