Bass Pro Shops 3-in-1 Wireless Weather Station
easy to operate-we put ours on a mail box post in a part of the back yard out in the open where nothing would block the wind or shade the sunlight etc-we put in the necessary batteries and that's it-the weather is spot on-better than the local weather station-we get the forecast, wind and gusts, temperature, humidity and much more-best Christmas present since my engagement ring !

Waste of money
I fretted on either the LaCrosse brand or this one as they were the same price and bassicly had he same features. I did like the fact that the animometer had two sets of precision bearings. That would have been great if it worked accurately. Since we live up high in the mountains we get a lot of wind and often than not very strong winds up to 80 to 100 mph gusts. We had that last Saturday and that is when we went to buy the weather station. It really all works, temp it very close to our other outside thermometer we have, one Oregon and one LaCrosse. The humidity and other features are OK but when you buy a weather station that has an animometer , especially when it says Acrite you would expect the wind speed to be accurate and that is the reason we spent the extra money anyway. Everything else would cost half or less. The winds were gusting over sixty and this piece registered 30 mph, trees were breaking in half our doormat blew so far into the neighbors yard we could not find it for two days, gas grill blew off the deck...30 mph wind gusts does not do that. All in all, it works, everything but the animometer is accurate. In the manual Acrite boasts about their great customer support. It has been a week since we bout this and emailed them the first day and again two days ago and nothing. We are very disappointed with this weather station and if I were looking for a weather station I would expect it to be more accurate. There are outside temperature weather stations for half the price if that is all you need, but don't spend any extra for this unit just to see accurate wind speed, it does not work.

great for the first year
It worked until I had to change the batteries, then it would never reset. I followed ALL directions again for set-up and nothing. NOW it will not even tell me the temp.

We had one of the more expensive stations, but after 4 years, the outdoor sensor went toes-up, and a replacement was no longer available.
The new AcuRite station has more features than our previous one; at half the price. It was easy to set up the outdoor sensors, and easy to read without the display being too big or intrusive.
This one's a real bargain!
